Church Boards

"Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit
has made you overseers, to care for the church of God,
which he obtained with his own blood.
"
Acts 20:28

Elders - This board assists the Pastors in all matters pertaining to the spiritual welfare of the congregation. The Elders see to it that all worship services are conducted decently and in order and the Word be proclaimed in accordance with article II of the church's constitution. Their responsibilities include appointing and supervising ushers and the Head Usher, integrating of new members into the life and work of the parish, and dealing with erring members in a loving and Christain manner according to the principles established in Matt. 18:15-18. (Meet the 1st Monday of every month at 6:30 pm.)

Christian Education - The board of Christian Education assists the pastors to promote Christain training/education among the congregation. Though this board does not meet regularly, it is responsible for overseeing various education programs inside the church. These programs include: youth confirmation; Sunday School; Vacation Bible School and youth group. (At this moment, there are no regular meeting times.)

Trustees - The Board of Trustees handle the legal affairs of the congregation, building and grounds maintenance, employ non-clergy personnel, and approve expenses. Trustees look into the legal matters that arise, and may retain attorneys if required. This would include, but not limited to lawsuits, insurance claims, liability concerns, willed estates, required inspections, and other matters. However, they also do repairs and preventive maintenance on the church property, building, equipment, and parsonages. This board looks for safety concerns and accident prevention. As a trustee, one recognizes that the church property is subject to commercial safety regulations and open to the public, which is a different standard than private, residential entities. Lastly, they monitor expenses of the church, by the use of an expense voucher system, which approves the payment for goods and services, authorizing the treasurer to make out checks for such.  (Meet the 2nd Monday of every month at 5:30 pm.)
